SIMC brings physician-day health consultations to Zhangjiang Science Gate

On China's ninth Physicians' Day (21 August 2026), Shanghai International Medical Center (SIMC) sent a multidisciplinary volunteer team of specialist clinicians into Zhangjiang Science Gate in Pudong for a Party-building-led health consultation day—bringing accessible, professional care to the science-and-innovation frontline and closing the last mile of community health outreach. Zhangjiang Science Gate concentrates researchers and corporate professionals whose long desk hours, high pressure, and irregular routines raise risks of cervical/lumbar strain, insomnia and anxiety, GI discomfort, and chronic sub-health. Anchored in hospital-local Party-building collaboration, the event targeted those workplace pain points with physicians from internal medicine, surgery, TCM, rehabilitation, and health management offering one-to-one consults, chronic-disease Q&A, medication guidance, and rehab assessment. On site, clinicians listened carefully, assessed symptoms, and advised on sedentary strain, neck/back pain, sleep issues, GI disorders, and hypertension/diabetes management—including contraindications, follow-up cadence, diet and exercise, plus office stretches and posture demos. Many researchers said project work leaves little time for hospital visits; being able to meet experts during a lunch break felt especially practical. Zhangjiang Science City Comprehensive Party Committee leaders and SIMC leadership visited to thank the team and convey Physicians' Day greetings. Committee Secretary Zhou Xiuhua praised SIMC's outreach and called for more tailored workplace health programs; President Fei Ke said the day's theme aligns with SIMC's local service mission and pledged ongoing park- and community-based clinics and education. Both sides discussed a standing health service station and joint workplace health literacy. The event marked Physicians' Day in action and deepened SIMC's Party-building and service roots in Pudong's innovation hub.
