Shanghai social-hospital health-checkup committee launches with deep SIMC participation

Shanghai’s Social Medical Institution Association recently held the founding congress and first academic meeting of its Health Checkup Professional Committee. Association leaders joined 100+ peers from social-hospital health management across the city to mark a milestone for Shanghai’s privately operated checkup sector. After a secret ballot, the first leadership team was elected; Dr. Weng Ziyi, director of SIMC’s checkup center, was named deputy chair and read the committee’s working regulations at the ceremony, aligning development standards for the industry. SIMC’s checkup center—built to JCI and five-star hospitality benchmarks as a standalone facility—has for years been rated an excellent Shanghai checkup quality-control unit since opening in 2014. It offers both corporate and individual packages plus risk-disease screening, citing access to 2,000+ tertiary-hospital experts, senior-led reporting physicians, Siemens 3.0T MRI, 64-slice dual-source CT, multiple high-precision Philips ultrasound units and endoscopy, and a ~1,500 m² two-floor space with seven VIP changing rooms. The committee’s launch signals a more standardized, quality-driven phase for Shanghai’s social-hospital checkup sector. SIMC says it will keep leveraging clinical resources, equipment, and service experience—together with peers—to uphold quality baselines and explore digital checkup and full-cycle health-management pathways.
