Hainan Boao Lecheng: Special Access to Overseas-Approved Drugs & Devices
Published by Lexaid, the brand of Shanghai Qile Wuyou Technology Co., Ltd. (其乐无忧). Company & brand
Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone is China’s designated medical special zone for “franchised medical care.” Under State Council–authorized rules, designated institutions inside the zone may apply to import and use certain clinically urgently needed drugs and devices that are already marketed overseas but not yet registered on the Chinese mainland.
This is not nationwide open access: use is limited to approved hospitals in the pilot zone, for approved indications, after regulatory review. Public reports in 2025–2026 put specially licensed product counts above 500, with growing inbound medical tourism. For international patients, verify whether your indication and product appear on the current hospital pathway, prepare translated records, and plan admission around import/pharmacy logistics—then confirm slots with the receiving institution before travel.
