Otolaryngology (ENT)

Key Specialty of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Key Department of the '211 Project' TCM Research Base of the Ministry of Education

Established in 1959, the Department of Otolaryngology at Dongfang Hospital is one of the earliest specialized departments for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) otolaryngology in China. Currently recognized as a Key Specialty of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and a Key Discipline of the Ministry of Education's '211 Project,' the department hosts the Liu Daxin Renowned TCM Master Studio. It maintains significant clinical expertise and academic influence in the integrated diagnosis and treatment using both Chinese and Western medicine.

Psychosomatic Medicine

Established in 2005 and becoming an independent department in 2021, the department operates under the national key discipline of encephalopathy. Utilizing a bio-psycho-social medical model, it integrates traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, psychotherapy, and physical therapies such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). The department specializes in the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of insomnia, anxiety, depression, and somatization disorders, serving as a specialized center for clinical care, education, and research.
