Established in 2011, this specialized Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) department integrates clinical practice, medical education, and research. The department primarily utilizes traditional TCM manual therapies, combined with acupotomy (needle-knife therapy), oral and topical herbal medicines, and modern physical therapy equipment, creating a comprehensive treatment model that integrates techniques from various TCM schools. Key treated conditions include orthopedic disorders such as cervical spondylosis, lumbar disc herniation, and knee osteoarthritis, as well as pediatric conditions like congenital muscular torticollis and adenoid hypertrophy. The department preserves and practices specialized traditional techniques, including Ge's tendon-kneading and patting therapy, Shaolin Neijin Yizhichan (one-finger Zen), and Zang's abdominal vibration therapy.

Department of Infectious Diseases

One of the oldest hepatology departments among traditional Chinese medicine hospitals in China

The department originated from the internal medicine hepatology group established in 1957 and was officially renamed the Department of Infectious Diseases in 2008. As one of the earliest hepatology departments established in traditional Chinese medicine hospitals in China, it integrates the academic expertise of renowned veteran traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, such as Guan Youbo and Wang Hongshi, while maintaining an equal emphasis on both traditional Chinese and Western medicine. The department has extensive experience in applying specialized traditional Chinese medicine therapies to diagnose and treat viral hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, liver cancer, fatty liver disease, and various infectious diseases. It is particularly recognized for its expertise in halting liver fibrosis and treating refractory ascites.

The Department of Pediatrics at Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine was established in 1956 and is a key specialty designated by the Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The department has a long history and features renowned TCM pediatric experts, including Wen Zhenying and Wang Yinglin. It specializes in treating pediatric respiratory, digestive, and neurological diseases using TCM and integrative medicine. Its specialized external therapies are widely recognized in China.
