COPD: Airway Basal Stem-Cell Therapy
Published by Lexaid, the brand of Shanghai Qile Wuyou Technology Co., Ltd. (其乐无忧). Company & brand
This briefing explains what the technology is meant to do, who might be discussed for it, and what it does not replace. It is not medical advice and does not promise tumor shrinkage, functional recovery, or a cure. Eligibility, the receiving hospital, and the bill must be confirmed in writing by that hospital. Do not stop standard treatment unless the specialist agrees.

COPD is usually linked to tobacco, dust, or chemical fumes. The core is persistent airflow limitation and airway inflammation. Basal stem cells repair the airway lining. Chronic inflammation exhausts them. Mucus rises, cilia fail, and small airways remodel, leading to chronic bronchitis and emphysema. Inhalers, oxygen, and rehabilitation control symptoms. They do not fully restore destroyed epithelium.

The technology in the briefing is autologous. A little airway mucosa is taken by bronchoscopy, basal cells are isolated and expanded in a GMP laboratory, phenotype and viability are checked, and cells are returned by bronchoscopic instillation or aerosol. The hope is engraftment and differentiation into ciliated and secretory cells. The source says there is no gene editing. This is not an intravenous mesenchymal-stromal-cell product, and it does not fill the air spaces of emphysema back in.

- Pulmonology confirms the COPD phenotype, lung function, and exacerbation history;
- Bronchodilators, anti-inflammatory inhalers, and rehabilitation continue;
- Active severe infection and inability to tolerate bronchoscopy are exclusions;
- Sampling, expansion, release testing, then local delivery. Expansion can fail;
- Cough, sputum, exacerbations, and lung function are followed. The source does not promise a rise in lung function.
