Wet AMD: EXG102-031 Gene Therapy
Published by Lexaid, the brand of Shanghai Qile Wuyou Technology Co., Ltd. (其乐无忧). Company & brand
This briefing explains what the technology is meant to do, who might be discussed for it, and what it does not replace. It is not medical advice and does not promise tumor shrinkage, functional recovery, or a cure. Eligibility, the receiving hospital, and the bill must be confirmed in writing by that hospital. Do not stop standard treatment unless the specialist agrees.

Wet AMD is a leading cause of rapid loss of central vision in older adults. Standard care is repeated anti-VEGF injections into the eye. The briefing describes EXG102-031, from Exegenesis Bio, as a recombinant AAV meant to be given once under the retina so cells keep producing a protein that blocks all VEGF isoforms plus Ang2 and PlGF. That is a different pipeline from FT-003, which targets VEGF alone.

The source says the product has IND clearance from China’s CDE and the U.S. FDA, with phase I/IIa studies in both countries, follow-up still open, and phase IIb/III still planned. It is not routinely marketed. Lecheng policy is described as a route to request assessment, not a guarantee of treatment. The briefing lists severe active intraocular inflammation, high-titer AAV neutralizing antibody, and heavy macular scarring as unsuitable.

- The retina team confirms wet AMD and the response to current anti-VEGF treatment;
- People who fail the antibody, inflammation, or scar checks do not proceed;
- If a hospital accepts the case, a retinal surgeon performs the subretinal injection;
- Do not stop an ongoing anti-VEGF plan on your own;
- Whether acuity improves varies, and the source does not guarantee it.
